1001 uses for a pet dog

It would take years to count all the ways in which our dogs enrich our lives, but I thought I'd make a start with this one.

Penny is really good at cleaning off any meat from birds' wings found on the ground.

A family member picked up a beautiful wing from a parrot a few weeks ago, thinking to use it in an art project. (It was before the awful fires, so we don't have to feel bad about the death, because it was probably in the natural run of events.) She put it out in the garden so ants could clean it up, but Penny found it and treasured it for days. No-one was allowed close enough to notice what she was doing.

And what was she doing? She was working hard to clean it for us. And the result? Lovely items for a collage.

  2. Wow! Penny sure collected alot of bird feathers there.

About the Citrus Dip, it's used as the last rinse before toweling dry. Just bathe Penny normally & if you want to apply conditioner, go ahead. Mommy applied conditioner on us too before the last rinse just to make our fur a little extra soft.

Well, the whole purpose of the dip is to repel those nasty pests & it also helps to improve skin problems. The dog will smell very citrusy fresh too! The smell can last up to a week if you don't dilute it some more with water. Mommy diluted ours with a few gallons of water because she didn't boil enough. Without adding more water to it, it'll be stronger.

  6. Noah, you dogs can be clever even when you're not trying - there was Penny just thinking she was snacking and really she was helping out.

By the way, loved that last video clip of you lot playing in the garden. When I visit your blog I feel good - another use for a pet dog, I've just realised, so I'm down to 999 now.
