vacuum cleaner tests include pet hair

Our vacuum cleaner has given up the ghost, so I've been on the Choice site looking for the best replacement. From a quick scan I get the idea I need one with a turbo head or power brush. (But I still think my pet comb is rather useful.)

I thought the little video clip showing how they test for pet hair removal was amusing and entertaining.

Mom's vacuum is on the verge of dying too, Penny. She's always heard that the purple Dyson is the best for dog hair.

Love ya lots

Thanks, Maggie and Mitch. I'll look it up on the internet and see if it's sold here.

Hey guys,

We considered getting a Dyson, but ended up getting a Wertheim. We heard that the canister type vacs aren;t as good as a bag vac.

Anyway... we have been extremely happy with our Werty... It has a power head on it and the difference between this and our old vac is amazing (even though we had a trubo filter thing on the old one). We did get a special brush thing for pet hair on the furniture, but we dont use it. We're too lazy to change adapters and so just use the power head - works a treat.

Doozer, I had a look at the Dyson that Maggie and Mitch had recommended and it looked good, but in the end I went with the one Choice Magazine recommended - the Miele. I actually enjoyed doing some vacuuming this evening!! I think maybe our old one had been on the way out for ages. I loved this new one and it sucked up lots of Penny's hair (I know because some of it wrapped itself around the roller thing on the bottom.)
