As Penny was racing after her toy, having had a cooling swim first, we were a bit apprehensive when she ran near this tree. (Silly me for throwing the toy near a dangerous tree.)
But it wasn't a super hot day, so we thought no more limbs would fall from the tree.
It must have been scary when this branch snapped in the recent heat wave!

Our Mommy is so scared of trees ever since a tree branch almost hit her and ended up denting the top of her car instead. Mommy was always baffled why the branch snapped because -- it wasn't a windy day or anything when the branch snapped. We never thought about it snapping because of heat. (That's a good thought to keep in mind.)

Lassie and Benji, tell your mum that some trees suddenly drop a branch if they're hot and the tree is stressed. Over here it mostly happens on a still day.
