After the stitches came out

Sue, from the Portuguese Water Blog, added a comment on my last post saying that Penny's swelling was probably fluid. That's what our vet said, also. He said it would be mostly gone by yesterday - which it was. Aren't vets amazing? I would have said it would take another week for such a big swelling to go down.

Here's a picture of it yesterday, after our first proper walk in more than two weeks:

It's a little swollen, but basically gone. And, hooray, the stitches are out at last.

We had a lovely short walk at Clifton Hill, in the winter sunshine. We used to walk about an hour a day at least, briskly, but for this first outing we simply strolled around for half an hour.

You're free from the stitches, Penny! Your booboo area is looking wonderful!
Mom says that we don't want the special doggie smell to go away on our stored fur. That's the best part!
Our mom blends wool roving (corriedale or romney) and the fur together so that it will "stick" when she needle felts. In her experience, if you just try to needle felt only fur, it doesn't work.
Hope this helps.

Love ya lots♥

Mitch and Molly, thank your mum for explaining to me about needle felting with dog fur. She's a champion crafter!

Tina, it's so good to hear Teddy also is on the mend. Thank goodness we both had good outcomes.

Oh! So sorry we're late - we're only just starting to catch up around blog friends now and just read all your recent posts. Sorry to hear about Penny's lipoma but glad she pulled through surgery OK - and seems to be making a good recovery!

Hsin-Yi, it's good to know you are 'out and about' once more, lol. I know you've been busy. Yep, Penny's recovered from the surgery and is walking and enjoying life once more.
