Mitch and Molly said, on my post about kitchen training of the basket trick, that their mum is thinking of teaching them to 'hold'.
I was really glad to get that comment, because I'd been scratching my head about where to go next with the trick. (We got the idea from Ludo.)
So I'm reminding Penny of the 'hold' behaviour, which she hasn't done for months. She used to know how to hold a toy, but has never done it with a basket, so I didn't expect too much of her. She only had to mouth the handle of the basket at this stage. (Apologies for my loud voice. I do get a bit excited when Penny shows me how smart she is!)

Go Penny!! :-) Looks like she's progressing well. I always struggle with the "Hold" trick with Honey too - it's so frustrating coz I know perfectly well that she can hold & carry a stuffie in her mouth (or ball or stick or something that SHE wants) for ages and walk around with it, etc...but the minute I try to get her to hold something specific I give her, she acts like her mouth is completely unhinged. Grrrr!
Last year, I started trying to get her to hold something and walk next to me...then just gave up coz we were progressing so slowly...and now I've been so busy with the novel in the last few months that I've really slacked off on the training side of things.
Your video has inspired me to get back into it! :-)

If you can do it then we can do it too, right, Penny?!
Love ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
Hsin-Yi, for years I've been motivated by your blog to get going with some training, so it's great to know I'm having the same effect on you at the moment. And, of course, my current revisiting of training came because I saw Ludovic van Doggy was doing this trick. I love being part of our community of dog bloggers.
Mitch and Molly, I'll be keen to hear how you go with the 'hold' trick.
