first bath after surgery

Last weekend, Penny had her first afternoon off-lead in the garden, a wonderful day for us all.

She enjoyed the warm sunshine and mooched around finding sticks while her humans tried to make inroads into the massive growth of weeds swallowing up our backyard since these wonderful rains began.

She enjoyed a roll in rotting wet mulch, resulting in such a ghastly smell that we had to give her the first bath since surgery.

3 months with no bath?! That sounds like heaven, Penny!! You should be glad you don't live with my human - she wants to wash me once a week!!!

I have never seen that kind of bath thing before - I just get washed in my own bathtub. It looks cool ...although the shower thing sounds a bit loud and scary! But you were very brave!

Yay to hear that you're making such a good recovery!

Oh that's not fair. She rolled in stuff to get smelling just stinky enough and then she has to have a bath?

I am glad that she's doing well.

You looked like you really enjoyed your bath, Penny! Our favorite part is the towel drying because it means that bathtime is over!

Love ya lots

Honey, I guess she didn't get off as lightly as I made out, because she's sort of had a bath twice a week for the last couple of months, when she walked in the underwater treadmill.

Oskar, it was sort of unkind of us, given that Penny hasn't been able to roll in nice things for four months. But we weak humans would have probably thrown up our dinner if we'd let her near us with that powerful smell.

Oh, Maggie and Mitch, I've never thought that maybe Penny only loves the towel because it shows bath time is over. Maybe that's it!

Penny didn't look too bothered, neither did she look too pleased. Just something to be endured - after having a wonder roll in her favourite perfume too.

Mary, endurance...I think you've nailed it.
