how to make your own agility equipment

Penny enjoys agility but I've found it rather expensive to buy much equipment for practice at home. So I was very intrigued to follow a link from Maholia to another site called Instant Agility that has heaps of instructions for making agility equipment from pvc pipes. It looks great!

We made a jump and weave poles out of pvc pipes last year, it really works grrrrEAT! Perfect for practicing agility at home!

What a great agility link, Penny! We're thinking that your back yard is going to be looking pretty good soon!

Love ya lots,

Sparky, that's encouraging. Though your humans might just be more handy with tools than I am. I hope you enjoyed Canada day!

Maggie and Mitch, I reckon we need someone at our house who's handy with tools, like you have at your house. But I guess we'll eventually get them made.

The Instant Agility is a great link. Who would have thought to use pvc piping for agility equipment...As soon as we get our new fence (have been waiting months) we'll have to look into this. Thanks for the tip.

Noah xx
ps. thanks for the well wishes too. They're appreciated.

Noah, it's possible to buy pvc agility equipment online in Australia, and for rather non-handy people like me it's almost worth paying the price. I've bought a couple of jumps and the base of a see-saw. I reckon your humans look pretty capable, though, and I think they'd be able to make anything once they had the plans, lol.

I read that blog & found it sooo kewl & very helpful! Woohoo! I think Mommy is gonna make new equipments for me soon once she gets her pay. Hey btw, I failed my Novice exam again today. I have no idea why! I did the best but I only came when called after three times during recall exercise but the rest, I did fine. Chloe passed though! We all were in SHOCK! But it's okay. I've already passed my Novice exam before so why do I need another Novice cert right? Now, it's only Faith left to get her Novice cert before we all three can move up to Intermediate in our new school. Yes, we've moved back to our old school again. Anyway, this Friday, we're going to Penang for an OB trial, Agility trial & Flyball Tournament. My hoomans have been picked to become judges for the Fancy Dress game too & we're gonna be featured in a local Chinese newspaper! How pawsome that is! I'm joining for all of them & I'm also doing a dance demo for them. Hope I do well! Wish me & Faith luck! I'm working hard everyday to become good.

Amber-Mae, I remember seeing video clips of you (I think it was last year) doing wonderful work on obedience, so I'm surprised that you didn't go so well on the recall. But I must say that I think agility and tricks are much more fun. At any rate, I know you're an all-rounder - maybe you just didn't feel like doing a recall that day. I hope you have lots of fun with the equipment if your mum makes some for you.

Wayfarer, good to see you around. I've enjoyed what you've posted lately. Thanks for giving me an insight into life on the opposite side of this beautiful planet.

Hi, I wanted to tell you about how I made a very inexpensive tunnel. I bought 4 popup garden bags ($8 each at Christmas Tree Shops). These are exactly the right size for agility. I cut the bottoms out and sewed them together with fishing line (a tedious task, but worth it). I use plastic tent stakes to stabilize them. They are very lightweight and easy to position anyway you want. To make a curve you just use the tent stakes to set it in place. Let me know if you would like me to send photos.

Diana, that is fantastic! I have one of those pop-up garden bags and I can see they would be fantastic for a tunnel. I'm going to try this as soon as I can.
