new toy available in Australia for intelligent play by dogs

I'm a sucker for a good dog toy, so today I just couldn't resist the wooden Seek-A-Treat, when I visited Murphys to buy one of my favorite dog foods - Ziwi Peak canned tripe, venison and lamb.

Perhaps I was attracted by the bright packaging - after all, that's what it's for, isn't it?

Penny found one part extra easy, because she is used to moving parts in slots to get at what's underneath. But this one had another, not-so-familiar aspect. She had to turn a little lever in order to get at a treat under a separate flap. It was great to see her puzzling over it, but when she began to chew on the toy, I solved it for her this time, as I don't want her starting bad habits with her puzzles.

Good Luck with it!! We havent tried any of those yet - mine are big on find and seek games with me and objects right now.

Obi and Niki have a very similar toy and they likes to play with it.

Maggie and Mitch, we're going to work on it until Penny figures out how the little lever operates, lol.

Ha! HA! This would be way beyond Honey! I sometimes think she still hasn't really figured out the really basic "Dog Brick" by Nina Ottossen and gets the treats out partly by luck!

And the problem with Honey is that she doesn't have enough 'drive' to keep persisting and trying to solve a problem - she just gives up after 2 attempts and starts bashing things with her paws. That's her solution to everything! So then I usually have to step in to "help" her (or remove the toy) coz otherwise, it's just going to be smashed into pieces after a few moments pummelling from her giant paws!

Hsin-Yi, I'm actually wondering if this one might be beyond Penny...

I'll give it another try tonight.
