dogs make us get out of bed at dawn

Now the hot weather has arrived, it's time to get up early and walk at dawn. Yawn...

We went to lovely Yarra Bend park this morning and this is how it went:

You swim out...

You get the stick and bring it back...

You juggle it and jiggle it to get it past the rocks...

and stay out of the way of the people in the boats.

Good thing you didn't think the canoe paddles were sticks. If you tried to retrieve one of those canoe sticks-- you probably would have brought the whole canoe back to shore with you!

In a damp, grey sticky Pacific NW winter, those were some very refreshing photos. Happy walks to you and Penny!

Wow! Lassiter Chase! That would be an achievement if Penny retrieved one of those giant sticks. Thank goodness she stayed close to shore.

Curator, in the same way it's nice on a hot, hot day to read what people are doing on the cool side of the planet.

Ha ha , really it's good for you Parlance, that Penny stayed close to shore.

Kari, I think dogs make us more aware of the changing of the seasons.

Slavenka, she is quite a good strong swimmer, but who knows what might happen if she went near the boats? You're right. It's better to stay close to shore.
