persuading a dog to eat raw fish

The other night we had another try at broadening Penny's raw feeding diet to include fish.

What was this weird stuff her bowl? Hmm...she carried it over to her eating mat to examine it.

And then the human tried to convince her it was fun...it would be a good reward for obedience...it was worth guarding from food-thieves.

No luck.

In desperation, determined not to waste it, the human popped it into a saucepan with some hot water, lightly cooked it, and, hey presto! It must have tasted good.

Oh Penny, we love our frozen hoki fillets. At least you ate it eventually. We love our fish.

What an obliging dog. She seemed to be trying to work out what you wanted and took the fish even when she didn't want to eat it.

Noah, my motto is, if Noah and his friends can enjoy fish, then Penny can too!

Mary, you are so-o-o-o right! She was just being obliging.

Hi Penny - we love fish! Actually, um, there isn't much we don't love food-wise, he he he! You made our mouths water in that last video - yum yum, you did look like you enjoyed it! Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.

Penny just wanted her fish warmed! It's better that way, right, Penny?!

JD and Max, I wish you could convince Penny she likes fish - it would be so healthy for her.

Maggie and Mitch, I guess I'll just have to serve up "warmed" fish whenever I want to extend her diet.

Penny has such an adorable face! And very polite too on giving it a pass. I don't like fish either hehe...Now you've given LS an idea about warming them up a bit.

Happy, I'd really like to get Penny to eat raw fish, so I might try some other types of fish. (She'll eat tinned tuna, but I think that is already cooked.)
