Penny has her meal from the Amazing Treat Machine

Penny has quickly conquered The Amazing Treat Machine and I think it's great value for the price. (I forget what it was, but if I remember right, it was well under $20.)

Here she is having her dinner from it. I've had to compromise on my ideal of all raw feeding, but I think I've chosen a suitable premium brand of dry food for the occasions when we'll use this toy. It turns out to be quite an energetic activity because she's so enthusiastic to get the food. Apologies in advance for the terribly boring sound of me saying, 'Get the ball. Pick it up. In the box.' It's only when I listen to myself I realise I do that silly thing humans do, of repeating ourselves to our dogs unnecessarily.

Oh wow Penny - you picked that up SO quick. We so want to get one of these for JD and Max - and now we've seen this video we want one even more! We bet mealtimes are really fun in your household!

JD and Max,
I think it's one of the best toys I've seen, and it's so cheap, especially if you live in the US! One of our humans is in the US right now, so I'm going to get her to bring a couple more back, because I'm guessing a cardboard box won't last forever. (Though it's looking fine so far.) The trick is to stick the bottle through the hole so it's not resting on anything, just hanging there by the lid.

JD and Max, I just realised you will have the same problem I did. The people who make it didn't want to post to Australia. But maybe Britain is so much closer that they will do it.

Good evening parlance
The machine making of the meal is interesting.
Meal is served only from the number of balls.
As for consideration, the clever dog can find meal.
Warm Australia is ume tyan of envied Japan. :)

Oh this looks like fun. I wonder if we could adapt it for humans. Might help with the fit against obesity, though I am not sure what happens when the supply of food runs out. Does one then remove the toy till next meal time?

That's really cool! LS says now she's really interested to get one for me although don't think there's one here. You make the box yourself?

Happy, If you're in the US it would be super easy to order one online. The box is very light, so it wouldn't cost much in postage.

I'm not sure which continent you are on!

Maggie and Mitch, Penny is blushing modestly.

theregatha, imagine if humans had to leap about and earn our meals. We'd all be fitter and slimmer.

umekotyan, thanks for visiting. I think it must be very cold in Japan at the moment.

Unfortunately we're nowhere near US. We're in M'sia for now. I doubt they'll want to post it to us all the way across the globe.

LS says she's going to make more effort to keep me entertained and agile since I've been really bored lately.

Happy, I think should have known where you are, but I've got a terrible memory.

You might want to keep an eye on Clean Run, because they occasionally have free international shipping. I've bought things twice from them, and they will post internationally.

It's hard keeping a dog entertained, isn't it? Since Penny stayed for five days with a wonderful pet sitter I've been challenged to keep her as happy as she seemed to be with the sitter. She would play all day with one of the other dogs, plus get an hour's walk in the country TWICE a day! Every time I look at her stretched out on the floor here I feel a pang of guilt, even though I know how silly that is! But I guess you have the same issue that we do, of high temperatures that make exercise a bit dangerous.

What is Clean Run? Oh yes you are right! It's hard to keep a dog entertained and LS is always feeling bad about it as she says she just doesn't have the same amount of energy I have. And yes, the weather too.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

Happy, I'm popping across to your blog to tell you about the online store Clean Run. I've bought a few things from them, but only when they are doing the 'free international shipping' offer.

LS says thank you for the link! She'll take a look at it and I'm keeping paws crossed she'll be able to get something for me there.

What a clever pup! I'd love to buy an Amazing Treat Machine but Amazon doesn't seem to be able to ship them to Australia. Could you please let me know where you bought yours?
If you have time, I'd be grateful if you could email me: juddieb[at]bigpond[dot]com.
Many thanks,
Juddie

Juddie, I did email you. By the way, your blogs are so-o interesting! I'll subscribe in Google Reader. I especially like the old photos as I write short stories and I like using old postcards and photos as inspiration.
