racing the humans in the sea

It's a new experience for Penny to see humans in the water. Strangely, there have never been people swimming when we've been to rivers, creeks and the beach. But lately we've been jumping in with her. The first time I did it, she was so shocked she just stood on the beach whining in dismay. But now she's learned that if the toy is thrown in the water, she'd better shoot off quickly or one of the humans might just get there first.

You should also rent the video: Swim baby, swim BOL Penny, I'm glad you figured out how much fun swimming is.

Twink, if Penny were to rent the video, she might get some tips on how to beat us to the toy!

Oh ,swimming with dogs is sooo fun and when you have two dogs it's hilarious ;)

Noah, and Slavenka, I didn't know what I had been missing until I swam with her. I reckon it would be great with more than one dog.

Hmmm, female human is a bit scared of swimming but we admit it looks great fun to swim with your human. Mabye in the summer we could persuade her somehow to join us in the sea...? Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.

Oh, how lucky!!! I always dreamt of swimming with Honey but back in NZ, the sea was just too unpleasantly cold, even in summer (OK, maybe for hardier types but I'm a bit of a wimp!) and now that we're here in Australia, I'm too terrified of sharks & jellyfish to go in!!! :-)

It must be really fun to be splashing around together.

JD and Max, the only thing is that I discovered dog claws are very sharp! Usually I'm covered in clothes to protect me!

Hsin-Yi, I was most disturbed by the discovery last week that big jellyfish were floating around us, and started asking passers-by whether they were dangerous, and people said "probably not". Probably??

And on this occasion the tiniest, most beautiful babies were swimming around us. They were so sweet I thought they couldn't be dangerous. Is that naive or what?

My sister took a picture of the dead big ones washed up on the beach, and tried to get a picture of the little babies, but it's not really clear. The thing that struck me was that one of the types of babies had what looked like a long stinger trailing from them.

Happy, it was a simple pleasure, but wonderful.
